Shahid Kapoor has won the Best Actor (Critics) award for his excellent work and performance in ‘Udta Panjab’ and he has dedicated his award to ‘cinema with strong content’.

Shahid Kapoor has won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Udta Panjab at 62nd Filmfare Awards 2017. He dedicated his win to “cinema with strong content”. The 35-year-old Singer, who is a drug-addict rock star called Tommy Singh. Udta Panjab film co-written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
Shahid Kapoor tweet on an official account and congratulate his co-star Alia Bhatt who was adjudged best actress and best male debut winner Diljit Dosanjh. He wrote on tweeter, “Thank you Abhishek Chaubey and Sudip Sharma for conceiving Tommy Singh. Congratulations to @aliaa08 and @diljitdosanjh for the much-deserved awards. Shahid shared the award with Manoj Bajpayee for Aligarh.

Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor (Female) Award for her excellent performance in Udta Panjab. She plays a Bihari girl role in this film. Udta Panjab, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. is a story that revolves around drug abuse in a north of Punjab and how the youths there have succumbed to it.
